IHatePoverty Campaign

"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people..."

  — Isaiah 10:1-3

"If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."

  — 1 John 3:17

"Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don’t have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them, 'God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!' – if you don’t give them the necessities of life?"

— James 2:15-16

"The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern."

— Proverbs 29:7

Nelson Mandela once said, "Overcoming poverty is not a task of charity, it is an act of justice. Like Slavery and Apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings."  At GodInJustice, we believe that poverty is, indeed, a human-made social construct, and as such, we can dismantle it.

GodInJustice is launching the IHATEPOVERTY Campaign to draw attention to serious issues affecting the poor all over the world.  Individuals in communities across the nation, and around theglobe, are pledging to use their passions, talents, and resources to mobilize against poverty.  Personal action.  Collective impact.  Justice done.
